The Wants and Needs of the Heart

Why is it as people we find it so difficult to separate what we need from what we want?
In some aspects of life we find it quite simple.
We have the needs of a roof over our heard a, clothes on our backs and food on the table.
We want the nicer things and luxuries but we know the difference.
If we know the difference when it comes to the material then why do we find it so hard to know the difference when it comes to the emotional?
We need to be loved, we need to trust, and we need to feel wanted.
Yet our wants blind us to out needs.
Some want to have someone who makes us feel lust instead of passion.
Someone who will make us feel accomplished instead of appreciated.
We want someone who makes us feel as if others envy us instead if someone who makes us feel safe.
We have no one to blame but ourselves because it is ourselves who stand in our own way.
It isn’t until we can separate the needs of our hearts from the wants of our insecurities or our desires that we can honestly find what we deserve and what we need.
